A day of luck

Hi fellow birders. Today I was birding with friend Skyler Bol and his dad Tom Bol. Our first destination was at Grandview cemetery to look for a yellow-bellied sapsucker. After cruising around the cemetery we finally heard this loud knock knock knock knock knock. Me and Skyler quickly jumped out of the car to go after it. We went all the way across the street until we zeroed in on the tree. Then all of a sudden, it flew off. After coming back to the same tree later we heard it again only to clarify it as a downy woodpecker.

Later we were heading behind the Walmart on harmony to see what they had at the pond. OMG! We had found a snow goose. I was glad I could get it on my list. We were then driving on our way to the environmental learning center to find a wood duck when you we found a great-honed owl and a pintail. At the environmental learning center we were so lucky to have found a male wood duck. All inall today was totally worth it.
Sincerely,
Omeganook

  1. Cool post Chris, why did it say you have seen the Sapsucker on Ebird, maybe a mistake?
